For most solar EPCs, the proposal is where deals are won or lost. Yet many teams still rebuild every quote from scratch: a site survey in one app, a layout in another, a bill of materials in a spreadsheet and a PDF assembled by hand.
Where the time goes
The slow part is rarely the design itself. It is the re-entry: copying customer details, retyping panel and inverter specs, recalculating costs and reformatting the document. Every hand-off is a chance for an error that erodes trust.
Connect the steps
When lead data flows straight into design, and the design generates its own bill of materials from your product catalog, the proposal almost writes itself. Pricing, datasheets and warranties attach automatically, and the customer signs electronically.
What to measure
- Time from site survey to proposal sent
- Proposal-to-win conversion rate
- Number of quote revisions per deal
Track these for a month before and after connecting your workflow — the difference is usually obvious.
